Education

• in 1972 he graduated from Academical grammar school in Prague, a humane section with extensive teaching of Latin and Greek
• in 1978 he finished the Faculty of General Medicine at Charles University in Prague
• 1983 attestation of the 1st grade in internal medicine
• 1987 attestation of the 2nd grade in internal medicine
• 1987 CSc. in the field of internal medicine with his thesis a Computer in Pathophysiology and in a Clinic of Metabolic Diseases
• postgraduate study of Mathematical informatics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University
• 1992 habilitation at the 1st Faculty of Medicine at Charles University in the field of internal medicine with his thesis Computer Modelling in Internal Medicine

Working experience

• 1978-1981 an assistant of the Institute of Physiology at Charles University (research in the field of biocybernetics and modelling of physiological functions, published works - models of neurons, models of respiratory functions)
• since 1981 3rd Internal Clinic in General Teaching Hospital and in the 1st Faculty of Medicine at Charles University.
• 1993-1999 a vicedean of the 1st Faculty of Medicine at Charles University for the development
• since 1999 a dean of the 1st Faculty of Medicine

Contemporary practice

• an ambulance for obesity, diabetes and metabolic diseases
• a head of the inpatient department D2, 3rd Department of Internal Medicine of the 1st Faculty of Medicine at Charles University and General Teaching Hospital
