Since 1997 he was the Ph.D. student of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the Charles University in Prague, in 2001 he passed to the new line of study of biomedical informatics at the First Medical Faculty of the Charles University in Prague, where he received the Ph.D. title in 2003 with the Ph.D. thesis “Electronic health documentation”. Since 1997 he is employed at the Institute of Computer Science, Czech Academy of Sciences. His main professional interests cover the area of electronic health record, decision support tools and standards of health informatics. He has participated in several national and international research projects, mainly the European projects I4C-TripleC, MGT or national research centres EuroMISE-Cardio or Centre of Biomedical Informatics. He is member of several professional societies, since 1997 is he member of Czech Society for Biomedical Engineering and Medical Informatics CLS JEP, since 2000 member of Czech Society for Cybernetics and Informatics. He was member of editorial board of the national journal Physician and Technology. Since 2001 is he member of HL7 CR, since 2004 its chair. Publications
