After passing her school-leaving examinations at Českolipská Grammar School in Prague, Petra Feglarová was admitted at the Institute of Chemical Technology Prague from 1999. She completed her Master´s at the Department of Biochemistry a Microbiology focusing on Biomedical Engineering in 2004 with her work considering the role of protein CD36. Since then she is doing her PhD studies on the role of trans-translation in differentiation of Streptomycetes. Same year she started the Master´s at Metropolitian University Prague, the International Relations and European Studies which she finished at 2010.

From 2004 to 2007 she worked at the Institute of Microbiology at the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Prague on her thesis. In 2008 she partly worked at the Institute of Applied Biotechnologies a.s. Since 2008 she works at the Institute of Computer Science at the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, v.v.i. in Prague at the Department of Medical Informatics where she deals with optimization of quality control of RNA which is being used for identification of potential diagnostic genes in certain cardiovascular diseases.
