Department of Medical Informatics ICS AS CR, v.v.i. 

The Department of Medical Informatics ICS AS CR, v.v.i. has a long-standing experience with education and research in the field of biomedical and healthcare informatics gained mostly while solving several European projects. During the period of 1993 – 1995 some employees of the Department of Medical Informatics ICS AS CR, v.v.i. were solvers of the EuroMISE project. This project led to the establishment of a joint workplace called the EuroMISE Centre. The Department of Medical Informatics ICS AS CR, v.v.i. was solving the IT EDUCTRA European project of the 4th Framework Programme. The EuroMISE Centre has become a significant stimulus for the establishment and development of the doctoral study programme of Biomedical Informatics. Two accredited workplaces cooperating within the EuroMISE Centre, namely the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague, which enrols students for the doctoral study, and the Department of Medical Informatics ICS AS CR, v.v.i., participate in the Biomedical Informatics doctoral study programme.
