Cooperation

The European Centre for Medical Informatics, Statistics and Epidemiology of Charles University and Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic was set up in the year 1994 with the support of European Community as a joint working place of theFaculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University and the Institute of Computer Science of Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The European Centre has been developing a broad international cooperation in the field of interdisciplinary education and research for medicine and healthcare with European universities and research institutes from Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denmark, France, Croatia, Ireland, Holland, German, Poland, Rumania, Greece, Spain, Switzerland, Great Britain and with international organisations (e.g. European Federation for Medical Informatics EFMI, International Association for Medical Informatics IMIA, Biometric Society). There is also a close cooperation with other faculties of Charles University, mostly with medical faculties, Faculty of Natural Science and Faculty of Pharmacy with institutes of Academy of Sciences, (e.g. Institute of Theory of Information and Automatization, Institute of Experimental Medicine and Institute of Molecular Genetics ). There is also a cooperation with hospitals, research institutes, other universities and with other societies, (e.g. Czech Medical Society of J. E. Purkyne , Czech Society for Cybernetics and Informatics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic).

Upcoming

Next year will take place an International Conference Medinfo2007 at Brisbane, Australia.
